The A Beka preschool curriculum is used to enrich your child's education. I will focus on helping your child build character in the following areas: obedience, taking responsibility, generosity, friendship, helpfulness, manners, cooperation, kindness, truthfulness, consideration, respect, self-control, trust, forgiveness, and honesty. Weekly themes offer a variety of planned learning and play activities to help your child be ready to succeed academically. Our learning centers and weekly, or bi-weekly themes include hands-on activities and areas such as music including movement and exercise, science including calendar, weather, experiments, gardening, cooking, math including shapes, colors, counting, math concepts, creative arts, alphabet fun, writing, written expression, reading, language, computers, blocks and dramatic play. I have specialized training in child development to met the need of children with varying developmental levels.
I provide time for children to explore their feelings and use their imaginations. I encourage children to investigate their surroundings, solve problems and think independently. I support each child's freedom to move from center to center and learn at their own pace. I observe activities to share children's development with parents.
The outdoor exploration area is fully fenced and allows children the space to run, ride, jump, pretend and dream. The playground is covered with canopies and a large shade tree. Children will have opportunity to use small, large muscle and explore sensory outside. The children will enjoy our bike bath, trikes, basketball, kick ball, playhouse, sand and water table just to name a few. Some of our favorite games outside are Duck Duck Goose, Red Light Green Light and Ring Around The Rosy. Children will enjoy outdoor play daily weather permitting.

Children's daily schedule will be planned to include the following areas of development.
Cognitive Development: Children will learn to make decisions daily about interest and abilities, see patterns, recognize objects, people, self, problem solving skills, language, communication skills and to follow directions.
Emotional Development: Children will learn to express feelings, concepts of self, self control, express needs and gain a positive self image.
Social Development: Children will learn to cooperate with friends, adults, manage conflicts, ask for help, take turns, interact, share, help younger children, respect others and materials. Children will have time to develop social skills daily through dramatic play
Physical Development: Children will learn to participate in group games, move to music, play outside, work as a team, play safely with friends and equipment. Weather permitting children will go outside daily
Language Development: Children will learn to communicate and understand the world around us. Children will develop literacy skills through talking. Our daily circle time will include: reading, finger plays, songs, dance, (sequencing, repetition, speech and listening skills) sharing ideas and learning new things.
Phonological awareness: Is the ability to hear sounds in words. Children will learn this daily through books and conversations.
Reading Readiness: Children will learn to write their names, know parts of a book, learn how to handle books, learn letters of the alphabet, Children will be read to daily
Vocabulary: Children will learn self expression and language development through our daily reading activities.
Math: Children will learn shapes, group like items, count out loud, count and sort toys, build structures, see patterns, graphing, weighing and designs
Creative Expression: Children will be given time daily to explore art through paint, play dough, crayons, glue and markers

Meals
Children will enjoy nutritious home cooked meals. I will provide breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. All meals will meat USDA and DFPS guidelines.
